Yes, if you need a stable, well-documented, GDPR-compliant and extensible system. OpenCart 4.x is built on modern PHP 8, performs well, and — unlike Shopify — has no monthly platform fees, and your data stays on your own server.
Can you migrate an old OpenCart 1.5 to the latest version?
Yes. We have completed dozens of 1.5 → 4.x migrations. The process first validates the entire data structure, runs the migration in a staging environment, and only goes live after validation. The risk of data loss is virtually zero.

Why OpenCart and not Shopify / WooCommerce?
